Lovejoy, a company in the Timken family of brands, is hiring an Engineering Analyst.

The Engineering Analyst is to be the primary technical resource for the field sales force, customer service, product managers, supply chain, operations, and customer base. Candidate must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs System Analysis: For customer specific data input analyzes the drive train from prime mover through the final driven equipment including any intermediate connections or power takeoffs. Selecting the most appropriate coupling and coupling features for each position within the drive train. This includes completing bore and torque calculations for the entire drive train and selecting the appropriate coupling for each position.
  • Develops Technical and/or Functional Competitive Interchanges: Ensures appropriate inclusions and exclusions to customer's requirement, protect the company from requirement that may request cost or proprietary data and, to ensure the product selected can be manufactured at a cost-effective price point.
  • Product Quality/Failure Analysis: Perform product failure analysis, support customer quality complaints then provide reports to management, production, sales, and customer. This could include CAR support for quality department.
  • Perform Product and Application Training: Develop and lead training for internal & external stakeholders (new associates, customers, distributors, etc) with ongoing shorter duration product / application training of the customer service department to better help them serve their customer during the first interaction.
  • Develop non SAP quotes for customer an unreleased item using internal price guidelines established by the product managers and pricing team
  • Knowledge Development: Maintain technical awareness of, and participation in the marketplace, through reading, visiting existing and prospective customers, attending seminars, trade fairs, training programs, etc. Work with the marketing department to develop, maintain, check, and improve the product catalogs, installation instructions, installation videos, interchange guides, customer UX digitalization efforts, etc

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:

  • A technical background sufficient to understand the technologies and technical issues involved within the territory, project and the industries, to anticipate and identify technical obstacles and to make reasoned and appropriate recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative and team building skills; Able to partner with different personalities and responsibilities, demonstrating conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Strong product knowledge and a fundamental understanding of how the products are made and Lovejoy's manufacturing capability
  • Results oriented; ability to commit to and follow initiatives through to completion
  • Ability and willingness to work in a heavy industrial, harsh environment (machines operating, grease, dirt, grime, abnormal heat, humidity or cold) help inspect equipment at a customer and/or end-user facility

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degre or equivalent experience is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Strong communication, Interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • 1 years experience inTechnical Applications engineering position for mechanical based systems or equivalent experience with manufacturing and couplings;4 years is preferred.
