The incumbent will be responsible for implementing juvenile salmonid monitoring in the lower Feather River including rotary screw traps and beach seine surveys, as well as supporting other fisheries monitoring programs on the Feather River and at the Feather River Hatchery. Duties include monitoring plan development, leading the work of 3-6 staff, communicating sampling protocols, maintaining data, analyzing data, preparing annual reports, as well as promoting a safe and inclusive work environment.

Special Requirements

Must possess a valid California Driver's License. May be required to conduct night sampling and work overtime as necessary to meet study objectives. The incumbent must be physically able to perform field work and inspect restoration sites in and around rivers. Must be able to swim 50 yards and stay afloat at least 10 minutes; lift, push or pull equipment or objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
