Finance Manager - Benefits, PxT - Finance

In this role, you will provide financial leadership and act as the key finance business partner to our HR business partners. Amazon's HR organization includes a broad range of functional expertise, ranging from HR Business Partners to software development engineers, and data scientists who are responsible for delivering innovative and world class benefits to Amazon employees world wide.
This role can be based in Seattle or Arlington, Virginia
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, possess strong analytical skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment.
Additionally, success requires a finance partner that:
- is a trusted advisor to HR Business Partners driving improvements in financial results via insightful, and actionable analysis.
- Provides financial leadership and analytical support during the strategic and financial planning cycles.
- Partner with HR to analyze new benefit investment asks and return on investment.
- Provide financial controllership by leading monthly reviews of key financial performance.
- Be a thought leader to improve and simplify processes and analytics, as well as to drive global standardization.
Key job responsibilities
Providing business partner finance support to the leaders of Amazon's global Benefit organization related to headcount and Opex reporting, global Benefit expense, planning, productivity, metrics, and ad hoc reporting.
Diving deep into the financial data and becoming a subject matter expert to provide additional insights.
Partnering directly with the Finance Org's, internal business lines, and central FP&A groups to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews.
Building and fostering effective relationships and networks with the Benefits organization.
Identifying and understand business challenges and proposing and creating impactful solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Python Pandas and time-series forecasting packages
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
