The Department of Business Services at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for Finance Manager for the UVA Bookstore . The Finance Manager will manage all financial operations for UVA Bookstores which includes the Bookstore, Cavalier Computers - Bookstore, Cavalier Computers - Medical, Courts & Commerce, Sabre Shop and several warehouse locations. UVA Bookstores is an auxiliary retail operation and receives no state or local funding. This position regularly used the following software: • and experience using NetSuite, Watchman Payment Services, Adaptive Planning, PaymentWorks, SIS, UBI/Qlik Sense, Cavalier Advantage, Secure FX, BOA Cash Pro, Payments Insider, Oracle - UVA Financial Historical, and/or Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities:
  • Cash Office management - operations include reconciling daily POS and Mail order cash and credit card transactions for all locations. Oversees Change Funds, maintains office security and follows audit procedures.
  • Accounts Payable management - operations include Vendor maintenance, invoice processing, payments, returns, vendor disputes. Provide leadership and support for trouble shooting system issues, vendor and payment discrepancies.
  • Accounts Receivable management - operations include Student Charge, Department Charge, External accounts and Employee Charge programs. Provide leadership and support for reconciling, billing, reporting and customer inquiries.
  • Financial Management - creates annual operating, reserve and 10 year budgets for all locations. Reconciles monthly revenue, expenditures and prepares cash reconciliations, income statements and supporting financial schedules. Prepares year-end projections for all locations and manages expenditures to ensure year-end obligations are met. Develop projections based on several variables both accurately and with supportive documentation.
  • Completes monthly account certifications.
  • Prepares various University financial reports as needed. Works closely with UVA Finance, Procurement and Business Services.
  • Supervises multiple employees and manages the daily operation activities of the business office.
Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant subject
Experience: At least seven years of experience in a financial discipline, likely with supervisory experience. 11 years of relevant/finance experience accepted in lieu of degree.
Licensure: May hold CPA or other advanced financial certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of financial principles and analytical techniques.
  • Experience in higher education service-related setting with in-depth knowledge of accounting, finance, financial reporting systems, data mining and data manipulation.
  • Knowledge of Workday and Oracle based systems or similar financial database systems
  • Experience in IT/finance/operational cross-functional projects and developing presentations for senior management and knowledge of policies and procedures in a state-funded higher education system.
  • Preferred Licensure: CMA, CFA, CTP, or CPA.
