Why does the job exist?

The Financial Analyst - Advanced will:
  • Process, analyze and reconcile Drug Rebates that are collected daily;
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations;
  • Process daily, monthly, and quarterly journal entries;
  • Process daily deposits for the Drug Rebate Program and miscellaneous deposits;
  • Act as a backup to other Accounts Receivable (AR) Staff.


How does it get done?

The Financial Analyst Advanced is responsible for:
  • Processing daily deposits;
  • Analyzing & reconciling Drug Rebate activity from Statewide Human Resources Accounting Reporting (SHARE) to the DRAMS System;
  • Providing quarterly Grants Management reporting information;
  • Preparing journal entries to record accounts receivable balances from the DRAMS System;
  • Preparing monthly journal entries that record state and federal revenues for claims collected and account receivable activities;
  • Preparing journal entries that establish liability to refund over collected amounts back to claims customers.

  • Administrative Services Division (ASD);
  • Health Care Authority (HCA) Divisional staff;
  • Other State Agencies and third-party vendors.


Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate has:
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable;
  • PeopleSoft SHARE Financial experience;
  • Experience proficiently utilizing Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, formulas, and functions) ;
  • Experience providing excellent customer service and communication skills;
  • The ability to work independently and in a team setting;
  • The ability to multi-task.


Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and four (4) years of experience in accounting, finance, economics and/or statistical analysis. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage with extended periods of sitting. Some standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 25lbs. Some travel may be required.
