Why does the job exist?

This person serves as the financial analyst of the investment accounting department and reports to the investment accounting manager. This person provides high level investment accounting support to the State Investment Office and interfaces with other members of the investment accounting department as well as the management team and with others in the investment department.

How does it get done?

This position will work within the Investment Accounting Department to provide on-going support for processing third party client activity, daily and monthly cash reconciliations, monthly journal entries into SHARE, and other accounting for alternative investments. This position will also process operating transfers and deposits on a routine basis, communicate with the State Treasurer's Office regarding daily investment activity and assist in the preparation of supplemental schedules.

The Management team, asset class directors, Council and committee members, clients and various beneficiaries as permanent funds

Ideal Candidate

Exceptionally strong investment accounting and reporting experience including experience with share and unitized investment accounting experience. Must be detail oriented, task driven, and able to meet recurring deadlines. Ability to lead others within the investment accounting department including answering questions and providing ongoing feedback is also required. Must me excellent with Microsoft Office products including work, excel, and Outook. Experience with both public and alternative investment is required.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and four (4) years of experience in accounting, finance, economics and/or statistical analysis. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.
