What You'll Do:
  • Plans, implements and manages all aspects of statewide epidemiology and/or surveillance

    program m (i.e., components related to HIV prevention and behavioral epidemiology community-based assessments to monitor the distribution of chronic, environmental, behavioral diseases

    and conditions, and their associated risk factors).
  • Monitors the distribution of these diseases and associated risk behaviors and works with programs, subgrantees, local health departments (LHDs) to provide ongoing assessment and planning for disease prevention.
  • Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of epidemiologic assessment methods in monitoring

    disease and risks in Ohio communities and in meeting the needs of local planners and policy

    makers.
  • Oversees gathering & analysis of data to develop conclusions & generate hypothesis & theories regarding disease existence, spread & etiology, organizes data collection methodologies and systems & implements epidemiological studies
  • Assists in development of policies and procedures related to the application of HIV prevention epidemiological data in order to maximize effectiveness.
  • Prepares and/or reviews and edits reports generated from investigations and research.
  • develops and prepares proposals to obtain funding to support epidemiologic investigations and

    ongoing disease and risk behavior assessment activities.
  • Writes and submits progress reports as required by grants. Reviews grant proposals and/or budget reports.

Qualifications

Completion of graduate core program in public health or preventive medicine AND 12 mos. exp. in epidemiology investigation with local or federal health agency which included 6 mos. exp. performing duties comparable with duties of Epidemiology Investigator 3, 65763.

-Or 6 mos. exp. as Epidemiology Investigator 3, 65763.

-Or alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Qualifications noted above.
