Job Duties:

The Division of Human Resources provides quality management consultation and technical services, which contribute to a positive work environment for the management and employees of the Disability Services Agencies (DSA), in order to facilitate their ability to provide the highest quality of services to senior Virginians and persons with disabilities.

We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant (Wage).

Duties include but are not limited to

Benefits Assistance:
  • Retirement certificates - Printing, obtaining signatures, distribution.
  • Service awards- Organizing order, working with procurement for ordering, printing certificates, obtaining signatures, validating order, overseeing lists of recipients and distribution to managers, ensuring signed lists received and filed.
  • Sending Benefits NEO emails to new employees.
  • Serving as point of contact for NEO participant and tracking of attendees.
  • Updating NEO checklist and attached information as new information is available.
  • Cardinal transactions.
  • Point person for ordering supplies and communicating with procurement for those need.
General office support:
  • Personal Loan Forgiveness Form.
  • Employment Verifications.
  • Performance Evaluations Tracking.
  • Possible administrative assistance with transition to UKG.
  • Respond to EWP/JD requests from internal & external stakeholders.
Transactions
  • Update position data in Cardinal and file documentation in position file in DocFinity. (Potentially this could turn into establishing positions)
  • Sends reminder email about bonus payments.
This position is located in Fishersville, Virginia in the County of Augusta.

This is a wage (part-time) position and will work on average of #25 hours a week and can't exceed 1500 hours during their employment year. This position does not include health insurance, retirement or leave.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Previous experience working in a professional office environment, and a knowledge of general office policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Experience providing administrative support for multiple entities.
  • Experience researching, organizing, and compiling data.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to work independently and provide exemplary customer service when answering telephone, greeting visitors, and assisting coworkers.
  • Ability to escalate concerns/issues through appropriate levels of management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to the general public, clients, and with all levels of management, staff, and vendors.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and hardware: printers, copiers, scanners, and telephone switchboards.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, the ability to follow verbal and written instructions and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and effectively multi-task and complete other duties as assigned.
