This position has the primary responsibility of carrying out roofing related testing and research activities. The position involves preparing roofing test samples, carrying out standard test procedures and running experimental tests in a lab environment, and/or preparing roofing prototypes, roof deck constructions. The Technician is expected to follow all posted safety procedures, perform specific tasks instructed by scientists and senior technicians, perform simple calculations and enter test data into a database and articulate observations. The technician is expected to maintain a high level of professional, safety and housekeeping standards by participating in company and department EHS programs.

Ability to set-up and analyze experimental designs is a plus
Basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Word and Excel or Google Sheets and Docs

Hands-on person with strong sense of work ethic and self-motivation
Strong organization skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or material science
Previous experience working in a research and development lab
Previous QA testing experience
