Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a variety of laboratory experiments largely independently.
  • Design and optimize novel tests and methodologies not routinely performed in the lab.
  • Perform techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting, and advanced microscopy.
  • Operate laser scanning confocal microscopes and state-of-the-art spinning disk super-resolution microscopes.
  • Prepare and maintain tissue cultures, including stem cells, and differentiate them into neurons, astrocytes, and other terminal cell fates.
  • Provide basic animal husbandry and maintenance as required.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data and prepare reports.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
Expected Salary:

Up to $21.55/hr commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree in an appropriate area and four years of related experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of related experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Good organizational skills; detail oriented.
  • Sound degree of computer literacy.
  • Ability to methodically record data and to analyze data using basic statistics.
  • Ability to perform a variety of routine tasks and prioritize work.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism.
