Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is hiring a Mail Services Technician to perform a variety of duties in the agency Mail Services Section to ensure incoming and outgoing mail is delivered to the appropriate party in a timely and efficient manner, and in accordance with the agency's customer service philosophy.

Responsibilities Include:
• Reviewing mail contents to determine the appropriate receiver
• Matching and preparing orders and notices for mailing
• Opening and sorting transmittals received from Customer Service Centers (CSCs)
• Delivering mail, determining the most economical way of sending outgoing mail, preparing packages, and other documents for metering
• Operating a variety of equipment and performing other miscellaneous duties

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of office operation and office equipment and its uses
• Experience with standard business forms and filing systems and principles
• Demonstrated ability to read, explain and apply standards, procedures, US Postal Mail Regulations, and State Motor Vehicle Laws
• Must have the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Experience in Mail Processing Operations

Additional Considerations

• Experience with Pitney Bowes Mail Machines
