JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:

This position is responsible for managing compressors product line within PG11, Compressors. Responsible for Project Management, Product Lifecycle Management and Product Development activities.

Essential Functions:
  • Generate, coordinate and implement product group programs, tools, strategies, plans for the Compressors group by collaborating with cross-functional teams including OE sales, AFM/RX sales, purchasing, finance, and the production plant. Interface with all product groups as needed.
  • Direct project management activities that interface with customers to determine requirements for successful new product introductions.
  • Provide leadership for the Compressors product line in North America, including developing and driving the vision, strategy and budget to optimize all product activities.
  • Work with the marketing manager and PG Director to create actionable plans that focus on product positioning, price, and performance to deliver win-win value propositions for customers and Bendix.
  • Develop product lifecycle plans for compressor products considering how obsolescence links to new product strategies.
  • Direct product development activities ensuring alignment with strategy and operating plans.
  • Work with the PG Director to develop the AOP, MOP and STRAP documents as they pertain to the Air Treatment product line.
  • Develop and maintain positive and healthy relationships with Knorr-Bremse SfN colleagues.
Experience:
  • 5-7 years of experience in various engineering roles in consistently more responsible positions, including program or project management.
  • Experience in overseeing product development projects and at least 5 years with lead engineer experience required.
Skills:
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, closure, decision-making and driving for success/results. Strong organization and delegation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze issues and make good decisions that are consistent with overall program objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, along with solid oral and written, communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and manage conflicts, both internal and external.
  • Ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization; ability to listen and determine appropriate responses and actions.
  • Strong presentation skills, ability to prepare and present executive analysis and reports to both internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge and use of PDC and associated product development & commercialization processes including Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
Education:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automotive Engineering preferred.
