Serves as Innovation Campus Master of Engineering (MEng) graduate program coordinator and assistant to MEng Program Director. The primary focus of this position is the support of graduate students in the MEng program at the Innovation Campus.
Currently situated on the Falls Church campus and moving to the Innovation Campus in 2025, this position:
•Provides administrative and clerical support to the CS MEng Program Director and other faculty as needed
•Supports all admission, applications, student records, student recruiting, student enrollment, onboarding, registration, and graduation matters
•Serves as a liaison and first point of contact with interested parties to MEng program in CS and Innovation Campus, including current students, prospective students, corporate contacts, vendors, and others and assists them in person, by phone, virtually and by email
•Assists in the design and preparation of recruitment and outreach activities, orientation, special events, open houses, committee meetings, partnership meetings, seminars, graduation ceremonies, and special activities
•Supervises a work-study student (MEng ambassador)
•Serves as the backup to other CS program graduate support staff as needed

Required Qualifications

- Previous customer service and/or administrative support experience in an academic or business setting;
- Demonstrated computer skills and experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, database applications and other types of software;
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a wide range of clientele, including students, prospective students, faculty/staff members, administrators and other visitors;
- Exceptional organization, communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a high pressure environment;

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience maintaining student records including admissions support, programs of study support, and international student support;
- Experience with an application tracking system;
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and the ability to evaluate needs, establish priorities, make quick decisions, exercise sound judgment, and execute both departmental and Graduate School policies;
- Banner Student Systems experience;
- Interest and experience in working effectively with a diverse student population;
- Degree in higher education advising or related field;
- Experience supporting graduate students in higher education/continuing education settings;
- Ability to work independently and function as a member of a team.
