Job Description:
The Program Coordinator for the Department of Economic Development will support the implementation of the 24-month Developing an Information Technology and Cybersecurity Certification Pipeline (ITCCP) to Support Cluster Growth project.

The ITCCP project seeks to tap into existing courses and programs at Radford University, New River Community College, and Virginia Tech to create a pipeline of graduates with IT and cybersecurity certifications (e.g. Security+, Network+, A+, AWS) to fill critical, in demand jobs in the New River and Roanoke valleys. The project will establish and operate a Testing Center at The HUB at Radford University, enhance coordination and communication amongst partnering higher education institutions and regional businesses, and establish a talent connector program.
Reporting to the Director of Economic Development & Community Engagement, the selected candidate for this position will establish, lead, and proctor exams through the Testing Center at The HUB at Radford University. The position will support the project steering committees and workgroups which are comprised of leaders from higher education, industry and economic development; support programming through the talent connector program; and assist in grant management and reporting to GO Virginia Region 2.
This position involves juggling multiple tasks and projects and meeting deadlines. In order to keep everything running seamlessly, the Project Coordinator should be extremely organized, capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting designated deadlines. This position also requires collaboration at all levels of the partner organizations, working with team members, senior management, and customers to move the project forward and requires excellent communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated professional project/program coordination experience in conducting complex activities in an academic or business environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with current office computer software such as MS Word, PPT, and Excel.
• Proficiency with MS Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Zoom, and other collaborative tools.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Creative, independent, and highly motivated.
• Strong work habits and the ability to work independently as well as with a team.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, mature judgement, and diplomacy to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience, including high-level executives and faculty.
• Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds required.
Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a testing center and/or proctoring exams.
• Knowledgeable of professional certifications.
• Ability to edit and develop communication materials for multiple audiences.
