Position Summary

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifies employee timecard hours, collaborating closely with department managers and supervisors to ensure accuracy of data.
  • Maintains up-to-date payroll information by verifying and recording changes to employee details such as addresses, tax exemptions, and benefit contributions.
  • Performs daily payroll operations within the Human Resources Information Systems, ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently.
  • Prepares detailed payroll reports including analyses of employee hours, wages, and other compensation data.
  • Responds to external requests for verification of employment and wage details for workers' compensation claims and disability.
  • Assists in resolving payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries regarding payroll issues promptly and accurately.
  • Upholds the confidentiality and integrity of all payroll information, ensuring secure handling and storage of personal and financial data.
  • Assists in processing bi-weekly payroll, ensuring all salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions are accurately captured and processed on time.
  • Distributes bi-weekly payroll checks and manage direct deposit submissions for employee wages.
  • Reviews and processes employee expense reimbursements, ensuring they comply with company policies before inclusion in payroll.
  • Manages and prioritizes communications within the payroll inbox, providing timely responses to employee questions and redirecting complex issues to the Payroll Manager or appropriate department leaders.
  • Coordinates with the human resources department to align payroll processing with employee benefits, such as health insurance and retirement plans.
  • Ensures that all payroll-related documentation is completed and maintained in accordance with legal and company filing requirements.
  • Performs additional payroll-related duties as assigned to support the organization's overall administrative and financial strategies.

Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years multi-state payroll experience for 1000+ employees required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll system required.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification preferred, but not required.
