Post Doc Research Fellow
Boston, Massachusetts
Employer: Massachusetts General Hospital(MGH)
Industry: MD/PHD/Fellows/ PostDocs
Salary: Competitive
Job type: Full-Time
The Petti Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking to fill a post-doctoral research position in computational biology/single-cell genomics. We use computational approaches to analyze, integrate, and interpret genomic data -- particularly single-cell RNA-sequencing, spatial transcriptomic, and whole genome sequencing data -- to better understand intratumoral heterogeneity, tumor evolution, gene regulatory networks, and the immune microenvironment in human cancer. The postdoctoral scholar will analyze cutting-edge data sets designed to address topics such as the interplay of genetic, transcriptional, spatial, and immunological heterogeneity in cancer. We study a variety of tumor types, with an emphasis on brain tumors. Opportunities to initiate and lead projects, develop new analytic methods, learn wet-lab techniques, publish, participate in ongoing group projects, and be co-mentored by faculty collaborators are plentiful.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, computer science, biophysics, statistics, genetics, or a related field, with a solid background in both programming and cancer biology. A first-author or co-first-author publication in cancer genomics, single-cell genomics, and/or spatial transcriptomics is required. Applicants must be comfortable working on a Linux-based operating system, program in R and Python, and have experience with command-line bioinformatics tools. Background in machine learning and/or statistics is strongly preferred.
Interested applicants should submit curriculum vitae to:
