Piper Companies is seeking a Process Engineer to join an innovative biotechnology organization that has recently relocated manufacturing to North Carolina. The Process Engineer will play a pivotal role in vendor and equipment selection, and the development of efficient, robust manufacturing processes. The Process Engineer will go on-site in Raleigh, North Carolina with a Monday - Friday, traditional work hours schedule. When not in office, this person will have the opportunity to travel to suppliers to observe equipment in current production environments, to scope their fit with the needs of the company.

Responsibilities of the Process Engineer:

• Evaluate processes from the former manufacturing site and work to implement them at the new facility
• Play a key role in the evaluation of vendors and suppliers that may support the needs of the new facility
• Responsible for pilot-scale testing in the company's test center and adhere to the product and process development plan
• Provide technical support and initiate process improvement measures on existing equipment throughout the facility
• Manage value stream projects that will improve production efficiency
• Research new technologies to be implemented in future products
• Lead projects focused on known and new methods for the production of alternative protein and hybrid products
• Develop SOPs for new production processes and monitor tech transfer for full scale production

Qualifications of the Process Engineer:

• 4 - 7 years of experience in an engineering production environment
• Experience in food production process development, optimization, and/or equipment comissioning
• B.S./M.S. in an Engineering discipline

Compensation of the Process Engineer:

• $90,000 - 110,000 salary and 10% bonus, depending on relevant industry experience
