As the Production Control Process Engineering, you will collaborate on the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of internal material logistics to manufacturing lines with respect to safety, efficiency, cost and quality. Through true cross-departmental collaboration, our process engineers design and implement conveyance methods, manpower requirements, equipment needs, lineside layouts, warehouse layouts and replenishment methods to convey raw material effectively and safely to the line. However, our job only begins with design. Through a continuous feedback loop with our operations team, we constantly evaluate and improve our processes to streamline material flow by eliminating non-value-added activities. Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Manufacturing Engineering, Production Process Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Logistics, Planning, and Factory Software to effectively design and improve all aspects to material flow
  • Analyze data from several operating systems to develop a PFEP (Plan For Every Part)
  • Conduct warehouse capacity analysis based on safety stock/cycle stock requirements to ensure space availability solves for pallet storage requirements
  • Execute granular warehouse layouts to optimize material flow and implement visual 5T signage for operations to effectively store material
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Production Engineers to design lineside part presentation layouts in CAD/Revit ensuring all parts are presented in an ergonomic manner and quantities suffice for conveyance delivery cycle times
  • Execute manpower calculations at various vehicle output rates to ensure Production Control Operations is properly staffed to meet demand
  • Perform route balancing to ensure workers' utilization is equally balanced
  • Ability to learn our internally developed inventory management system MFS (Material Flow System) which will be used to configure the systematic process flow steps to match the defined physical processes
  • Provide requirements for equipment needs based on designed processes
  • Develop standard work documentation for all processes from receiving, put away, conveyance routes, returnables and recycling expendables


Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in material flow engineering, process engineering, continuous improvement engineering, supply chain engineering, logistics, or manufacturing
  • Commanding knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, logistics business systems, pre-determined motion and time standards
  • Experience in mining, collecting, cleansing and analyzing data using Excel, SQL, or other analytical tools
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit to execute granular layouts
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skillsets to collectively work through problem solving
  • Proven experience utilizing lean manufacturing tools to effectively analyze problems to their root cause and implement solutions
  • Previous World Class Manufacturing or Lean Manufacturing experience
