Job Position: Product Engineer
Location: GRAND RAPIDS, MI (Onsite)
Duration: 8-month contract with possibility of extension.
Pay Rate: $60/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Work cross-functionally with engineers, mechanical designers, manufacturing, suppliers, industrial design, and marketing.
• Perform large, complex engineering assignments related to product designs, development, and improvement.
• Make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions.
• Assist other engineers and mechanical designers in mechanical engineering/mechanical design principles.
• Work within project budget and schedule, and lead engineering approvals of production parts.
• Experience in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) techniques.

Qualifications:

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Proficiency in technology/engineering analysis & methodology
• Experience in engineering part approvals for production (ISIR/PPAPs)
• Familiarity with DFMEA/PFMEAs
• Ability to create and define performance requirements on engineering drawings
• Track record of successful product launches into production
• Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems like Windchill preferred
• Skilled in research, innovation, and concept analysis
• Understanding of economic analysis principles
• Knowledge of systems, procedures, and standards
• Proficient in CAD software, particularly Creo (Windchill experience is a plus)
• Familiarity with business industry practices
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Effective administrative and time management abilities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in product development
• Ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in product development from concept to production.
• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
