Job Summary:

This is a highly responsible professional position providing project management leadership for the East Texas Wastewater Monitoring Project. This position will be responsible for establishing a project management and coordination service scalable with demand to serve as a flexible asset supporting UTHSCT and the Public Health Lab of East Texas (PHLET). Work will be performed under the guidance of the wastewater project supervisor to continue to support and sustain the program through the duties described below.

Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:
• Sample pickup and delivery to the PHLET, and coordination of pickup schedule to complement the lab schedule for processing. If a courier service is utilized, this position would coordinate and ensure delivery of samples to the PHLET in a timely manner.
• Regular communication and visits to wastewater treatment facilities will require frequent weekly travel to various sites in East Texas.
• Conducts internal and external meetings with partners and stakeholders and assists with preparing and presenting scientific information to various groups.
• Shares information about program with new potential partners and helps enroll into program.
• Provides laboratory support when needed in preparation and processing of samples.
• Assists with data compilation, analysis, and management, and acts as a liaison with various partners in epidemiological analysis.
• Collaborates with internal group to lead data reporting, sharing, and dashboard updates.
• Works closely with all team members and collaborators to lead the project and coordinates the workflow from sample collection to data sharing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree required in Biology or Chemistry. Master's degree preferred in public health or a related field.

Five (5) Years of relevant experience.

Previous experience in project management preferred.
