Minimum Qualifications
Project Manager:
Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or major coursework in project management, plus six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience in managing projects.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
None.

Capital Delivery Project Manager:
Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, or construction science, plus eight (8) years of experience in a field related to engineering, architecture, or construction management.

OR

Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field, plus ten (10) years of experience in a field related to engineering, architecture, or construction management.

Overview of the Position:

The Project Manager/Capital Delivery Project Manager works under minimal supervision, this position oversees the planning, design and construction of various medium-to-large or complex capital improvement building projects and leads and manages the project team. Serves as liaison between city departments, consultants, and contractors.

Travel:

The Capital Delivery Services Department is comprised of multiple facilities located throughout Austin. If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Record Evaluation ( https://www.austintexas.gov/sites/default/files/files/Employment/new_hire_driver_safety_standards.pdf ) you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

Hybrid Work Environment:

The City of Austin has an established work arrangement under which an employee is scheduled to work at least 3 days per week at their designated worksite. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing multi-million-dollar architectural projects from project initiation through project closeout, using various project delivery methods such as Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Construction Manager-at-Risk, and Job Order Contracting.
• Experience negotiating and executing consultants' and contractors' proposals.
• Experience communicating in oral or written format and presenting to a variety of audiences, including but not limited to boards and commissions, public meetings, community meetings, executives, and peers.
• Experience developing and/or using data base and excel spreadsheets for managing project budgets and schedules.
• Ability to travel to multiple work locations.
