Job Description

Under direction, with wide latitude for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, manages the planning and development of the NYC Office of Behavioral Health's financial incentives program to help recruit and retain our behavioral health workforce.

GENERAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Administrative oversight of the Behavioral Health Loan Repayment Programs
    • Implement Behavioral Health 4 NYC Loan Repayment from the application process through to the payment disbursement, in partnership with Finance
      - Serve as key point with program recipients
      - Produce demographic and funding status reports
      - Update and track all administrative paperwork
      - Implement promotional strategies to raise awareness of BH4NY
    • Track emergent loan repayment opportunities focused on BH from the NYS Office of Mental Health and other government entities
    • Conduct regular reporting on loan repayment portfolio, tracking key metrics such as $$$ disbursed, # awardees, retention metrics, demographics
  • Manage operations of OBH's Career Pathways initiatives to support recruitment and retention of behavioral health staff, including but not limited to:
    • Community Health Network Early-Career Nurse Practitioner Fellowship
    • Psychiatric Physician Assistant Career Pathways Program & Fellowship
    • Social Work Centralized Internship Placement Program
    • Social Work Licensure Track
    • Community Health Worker
  • Organizes, plans, executes, reports and evaluates project and program goals, metrics and objectives.
  • In the temporary absence of Program Director, may assume the duties of that position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Educational and/or experience requirements will vary requiring diverse kinds and levels depending on the content, complexity and variety of project. Compensation levels will correspond to the requirements developed for the designated project.
In no event will the acceptable minimum be below:
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in a specialization discipline consistent with project content; and,
2. Four years of substitutable and relevant health care experience related to the objectives of the project; or,
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, training and education.
