Job Summary Project Coordinator

Under direction of the Director of Programs and working closely with the Research Program Manager, oversee the day-to-day activities of the Institute's research projects including promoting operational cohesiveness, functionality, internal and external communication, and collaboration. This role will also facilitate and coordinate efforts among stakeholders and may provide operational support as needed to the Justin Siegel Lab.

Responsibilities include project coordination with both internal and external partners, developing project timelines, organizing meetings, and generating regular progress reports. Additionally, The role involves participation in research efforts, supporting graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, and collaborating scientists on innovative research projects, and maintaining lab reagent inventory and standard operating procedures documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. or B.A in Business Administration, Communications, Economics or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Be a strong team player who works closely and cohesively with others and a self-starter who can achieve progress and results while meeting critical deadlines. Ability to work across multiple projects, work independently, and prioritize deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills, active listening, multi- tasking, and time management skills. Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a broad range of audiences from diversified backgrounds and perspectives including faculty, staff, and students as well as senior executive level representatives of private and public sector stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to assume responsibility for coordination and completion of complex assignments requiring interactions with many parties.
  • Organizational skills to work with changing priorities and demanding workload and to use independent judgment to make logical decisions.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze complex data and develop meaningful solutions to specific problems, develop collaborations, with respect to project priorities
  • Writing, editing and proofreading skills to write and prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, and informational documents, technical reports, and correspondence. Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Dropbox
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and/or education in project coordination or management, including working with project management software such as Asana or Monday.com and calendar management tools such as When To Meet, are desirable.
  • Experience and/or ability to learn how to organize teams, put in place processes to coordinate a matrixed system and create effective communication strategies.
  • Familiarity with the academic culture, government and private industry sponsors and ability to bridge them effectively.
