Department Description Assistant Curator - Project Policy Analyst 3
Job Summary
Reporting to the Exhibitions Department Head, researches and catalogues the permanent collection. Joins newly formed inter-departmental team for 3-year project to digitize the collection. Assistant Curator will be the museum staffer dedicated to the digitization project.
The Assistant Curator will have opportunities to curate special and collection-based exhibitions, and support research and production of all exhibitions in collaboration with the Exhibitions Department Head.
The Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art serves a primary audience of faculty and students as the lens through which it engages a broader audience. The museum's program is steeped in the richness of resources at University of California, Davis. The museum is an engaged partner in the intellectual work of the campus, involving students, faculty and staff as initiators, partners, and participants in the research and development of all aspects of its programming.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license, certification and/or educational degree if required of the position.
- Master's degree in Art History or Museum Studies or equivalent professional experience.
- Expertise in international modern and/or contemporary art and art history, with demonstrated experience art and artists from California.
- Track record of leading successful projects that require strong organizational skills: ability to prioritize and organize multiple activities, as well as supervise the activities of staff members around a common project.
- Demonstrated commitment to, and enthusiasm for, working with students.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Art History.
- Experience collaborating with university faculty, museum staff, and funders.
- Demonstrated expertise with art museum best practices for collection care and interpretation.
