Job Duties
Piedmont is a geriatric hospital located in the state of Virginia. It is Virginia's only state mental health facility solely dedicated to evaluation and treatment of persons the age of 65 and older. Our mission is to provide recovery based Mental Health Services to enable the elderly to thrive in the community.
(1) Serves as psychologist I on assigned unit(s):
• Provides comprehensive psychological assessments and psychotherapeutic services
• Provides consultation and training to other disciplines
• Serves a leadership role within a treatment team setting
(2) Provides the hospital with leadership and participation on projects and committees as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Psychology or Counseling
• Training and experience with adult mentally ill population
• Familiarity with a variety of treatment modalities
• Familiarity with psychological assessment techniques
Additional Considerations
-Training and experience with severely mentally ill and/or geriatric and/or forensic populations
preferred
• Training and experience with older adults preferred
• Strong experience in behavioral treatment preferred
