This position is responsible for supporting the development of complex special reports, queries, and data runs that compile large amounts of quantitative and qualitative information specific to meeting end user's data request needs. Clients may include CDE staff, the legislature, and state and federal agencies. Data may include complex longitudinal data from the CALPADS, California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS), other educational data sourced from program offices in the CDE, as well as data from external partnership agencies such as the California Student Aid Commission. Work with end-users to refine and clarify reporting requirements, when needed, and produce data or reporting files accordingly. Ensure that all security and privacy requirements are met when personally identifiable data is included in the reporting including redaction of data dependent on cell size. Work with EDFacts team to ensure alignment between state, federal, and internal data requests.

Developing and implementing a data request tracking system to facilitate the project management of the intake, review, deployment, and fulfillment of internal data requests for AMARD which may include using existing software such as SharePoint as well as learning new software such as ZenDesk. Conduct independent data research, identify data anomalies, and validate data inquiries with CALPADS reports, in responding to inquiries from program offices within the CDE. Escalate related issues properly to management, when appropriate.

Compile data to meet individual data request needs and requirements using excel or other statistical analysis software. This includes producing specialized ad-hoc reports for program offices using a variety of data sources, performing data quality review and participating consolidated state performance reports as needed.

Participate in staff meetings, data request meetings, and conference calls; attend state and federal conferences; keep supervisor apprised of program status; assist staff as needed; and perform other duties as assigned.
