Responsibilities
This position manages all aspects of projects in the EOAS workspace, the combination electronics and traditional shop, from design, fabrication, installation, documentation, and support. In addition, this position is responsible for managing the workspace's fiscal activities for workspace projects. These projects support the department's faculty labs and classroom instruction. Users of the EOAS workspace will be trained and supervised by this position and their safety is the responsible of this position.
Outside of the EOAS workspace this position supports and instructs others in the use of departmental resources such as multimedia devices, on and off-site instrumentation, and the department's broadcast studio.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have some general knowledge of the following areas: fabricating from design drawings, experience using a CNC lathe, troubleshoot electronics devices, data collection from instruments, experience with microcontrollers, training others as needed.
