Responsibilities

  • Provide academic support to assigned students in the Integrated Studies Program; audit student records; guide students in course selection; assist in resolving academic problems; monitor academic progress, assess other needs, and make appropriate referrals to appropriate campus resources.
  • Knowledgeable of university and college policies, workflows/procedures,
  • Able to support academic initiatives and projects of the program.
  • Have working knowledge of university bulletin, policies, procedures across iterations of academic and graduation requirements.
  • Serve as the expert on transferability of external courses and their equivalents toward degree requirements. Evaluate incoming external transcripts (e.g. transcripts originating from other colleges, and universities, domestic or international) to identify equivalent transfer credit applicable to the Integrated Program plan.
  • Maintain current knowledge and communication with the academic affairs dean's office, program directors, department heads, college advisors, and other university departments/divisions to stay up to date on course descriptions, pre-requisites, course leveling, and other advising or course information necessary to provide accurate transcript assessment.
  • Guides, prepares, and assists students with all academic processes (admissions/readmissions, schedule planning, registration, add/drop, academic recovery, withdrawals, and graduation planning).
  • Maintains regular communication with students regarding university and Integrated Studies program requirements.
  • Facilitates problem-solving and decision-making with students.
  • Oversees the planning and delivery of various advising and retention efforts for Integrated Studies students.
  • Actively monitors students' progress through the program by reviewing and assessing academic records to determine status of progression, completion of degree requirements as well as identifying and referring those students in which additional academic support, intervention, and guidance may be recommended to reaching academic goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
