The role you'll contribute:

The Senior Manager of Strategic Operations supports the Senior Executive Officer (SEO) for AdventHealth for Children (AHFC) | AdventHealth for Women (AHFW) with strategic planning of AHFC and AHFW programs within the ten-county Central Florida Region. The Senior Manager provides leadership for the facilitation of strategic plan development, elements of strategic plan implementation, and deployment of projects; operations and senior management communication across the business units; and serves as a chief aide in detailed execution. Collaborates with the SEO and senior leadership on the integration of organizational performance excellence principles in the acute care services business units. Prepares materials and presentations for the SEO to further the advancement of the organization to key stakeholders. Helps manage the flow of the AHFC & AHFW administration offices, including directly supporting the SEO. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Scope of Responsibility :
  • Strategic Implementation and Planning: Based on the direction from the SEO and senior leadership team, develop and help with the execution of operational and strategic plans that align with the goals and vision of AHFC and AHFW, supporting the SEO in driving the success of these programs.
  • Agenda Development and Meeting Facilitation: Collaborate with the SEO and members of the Chief Executive Council (CEC) to create agendas for key meetings, synthesizing and prioritizing agenda items to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Research and Data Analytics: Provide valuable research and data analytics to support the senior leadership team's review and input on strategies and innovations, taking the lead on projects under the direction of the SEO or CEC members.
  • Commitment and Project Tracking: Monitor commitments and project tasks arising from executive leadership and project meetings, delivering progress reports and updates to the SEO and CEC to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Decision Briefs and Analysis: Prepare comprehensive written briefs on decisions, analyzing options' pros and cons and evaluating their impact on various aspects of the business (cost, profits, people, culture) to aid informed decision-making.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with senior leaders to develop proposals that align with the SEO's expectations and standards, ensuring a strategic approach that contributes to the organization's growth.
  • Effective Communication: Act as a bridge of communication between the SEO's office, senior leaders, and departments, devising communication strategies for major initiatives and taking on the role of communications project leader for messages originating from the SEO's office (internal and external stakeholders).
  • Alignment and Integration: Work closely with leaders within Acute Care Services and the Outpatient Network (e.g., AHMG, Centra Care, Home Health, ancillary business divisions) to align and integrate systems, structures, and processes that enhance performance and further the mission of AdventHealth. Develop agendas for discussions with above stakeholders, based on direction from SEO and senior leadership team for AHFC and AHFW.

Operating & Capital Budget/Financial Responsibility :
  • Supports the SEO in the completion of critical projects including budgets, talent reviews, presentations to the governance boards, and AdventHealth Systems (AHS) assignments.
  • Monitor financial performance, track expenditures in relation to the established budgets, and provide regular reports to the SEO and senior leadership, identifying areas for cost optimization and resource allocation.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of project implementation, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and effective resource utilization.
  • Work closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, and planning for AHFC and AHFW for review by the SEO.



Strategic Planning Responsibility :
  • Lead the coordination and execution of strategic planning efforts for AHFC and AHFW, working with senior leadership to define long-term objectives and action plans as determined by the SEO.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights, analyze market trends, and identify opportunities for growth and innovation within the healthcare landscape on behalf of the SEO.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic planning framework that aligns with the organization's mission and values while adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Drive the integration of performance excellence principles into strategic initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and achievement of strategic goals.
  • Ensure SEO's strategic plans are communicated effectively across all levels of the organization, fostering understanding, commitment, and alignment.
  • Integrates strategy developed by CEC into operations and organizational processes; serves as the project leader in preparation of major management meetings including leadership team meetings, Town Hall meetings, Focus Week, and other major strategy/communications events.


Performance Improvement Responsibility :
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics relevant to AHFC and AHFW's strategic goals, working with stakeholders to establish clear targets and benchmarks.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and opportunities for enhancing overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Facilitate performance review meetings with senior leadership, presenting data-driven insights and recommendations for adjustments to strategic plans as needed.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement by promoting knowledge sharing, best practices, and the adoption of evidence-based strategies.


Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field of study
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a health care setting
  • Minimum of two (2) years management experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
        • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field of stud
        • Experience in performance management
        • Experience in leading organizational change

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Good emotional intelligence
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff
  • Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals
  • Knowledge of health care operations and systems
  • Ability to create and drive strategy and direction

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
        • Proficiency in Microsoft Software Suite, Project, Visio, and Live Meeting
        • Basic accounting, human resources, legal and/or contract administration knowledge
        • AH/AHS HUB/UGK system
        • Working knowledge of performance improvement methodologies, Six Sigma, or Lean Thinking
