Systems Analyst

Candidates for the Sr. Systems Analyst role work in the analysis phase of the system development cycle and consult with users to evaluate business requirements, identify operating procedures, evaluate existing or proposed systems and prepare and document detailed system specifications from which programs will be written. This function also is intended to include those that also may define business processes. The candidate will be doing system and requirements analysis for API integration formats (i.e. X12/HL7), user capabilities as well as gathering data requirements and mappings.
Daily life as a System Analyst for Clinical IT may include examining and clarifying business requirements with Business Analyst or Business resources. System Analysts are responsible for solution design by working interactively with Architect and Development resources via group working sessions. Once solution design is complete, System Analysts support the QA, UAT and Release phases of the project via defect analysis, change maintenance, etc. Many of the described activities will occur concurrently due to our use of an iterative SDLC. Working with multiple disciplines and on varied deliverables requires leveraging effective communication, multitasking and organizational skills.This person will be doing system and requirements analysis for API integration formats i.e. X12/HL7, user capabilities and data requirements and mapping among other tasks.

Healthcare background would be preferred but not required.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Serve as a primary IT resource for medium-size projects to large-size projects
* Work with business segments to better define project requirements for development and implementation
* Translate requirements into technical specifications
* Work with developers to get projects developed and implemented
* Make recommendations and articulate findings to the team
* Facilitate Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with developers and business resources
* Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
* Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
* Solve moderately complex problems and/or conduct moderately complex analyses
* Work with minimal guidance; seek guidance on only the most complex tasks
Required Qualifications:
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
* 5 + years of System Analyst
* 5+ years of writing system specifications and designing solutions
* 3+ years of experience working in the different phases of development
* 2+ years of Relational Database experience
* Understanding of data gathering/analysis
* Experience working with Agile development methodology
Preferred Qualifications
* Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
* Proficiency with MS Project
* Proficiency with MS Visio
* Understanding of Rally tool for agile
* Proficiency with API design including X12 transactions formats and HL7
Additional Assets
* Understanding of Java 8
* Understanding of Spring Framework, JMS, multi-threading, and XML (Xml Beans, JAXP or JAXB) is a plus
* Extensive experience in complex projects with division or company-wide scope
