AWS is looking for an exceptional Senior Technical Program Manager with strategic expertise and a strong delivery record in building trust and influencing through insights and analysis, and system design to advance adoption and effective use of Workforce Planning(WFP). Moreover, this Technical Program Manager will work in partnership with the core WFP team and other partner teams that requires thought leadership to advance WFP content across AWS. This individual has proficiency in employing workforce and human behavior insights, strong business operations fundamentals and good judgement. This individual will also provide thought leadership and program management against current and future technical capabilities and programs that enable the acceleration of revenue growth, improved operational efficiencies & delivery. Ultimately, the individual will be responsible for a program level effort to enable optimized workforce size, location and level in service of predictably accelerating product innovation, and enhancing the customer experience at acceptable cost. Key job responsibilities
• Work directly with senior leaders in the Workforce Planning team, while partnering with Finance, HR, Tech teams, and business leadership to manage creation of tools and processes that support the one- and three-year workforce plans in cadence with AWS' operational cycles
• Earns trust with internal stakeholders and customers, and develops collaborative solutions that create measurable economic impact on AWS
• Leverage deep knowledge of workforce planning methodologies, data sources, and practices. Applies this technical knowledge to invent, evolve, improve, and simplify.
• Drive large-scale workforce planning programs that solve significantly complex or endemic problems.
• Consistently bring strong, data-driven business and technical judgment to decisions.
• Recognize when designs/solutions require additional technical guidance (e.g., from senior practitioners or subject matter experts).
• Advocate for and guide workforce programs. Influence teams to dedicate resources, and lead the effort (or finds appropriate owner).
• Capture the right metrics to influence stakeholders and measure success.
• Occasional travel to internal meetings and fact-finding sessions.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager within AWS, you will partner across the WFP group guided by a senior member of the team. You will play a key role on the Workforce Planning Science, Tooling and Inspection Engagement sub-teams that influence the long-range plans of the business and the technical agenda that supports it. You will influence tools and programs serving senior leaders globally and impacting AWS' future.
The ideal Technical Program Manager has a strong sense of ownership, is self-driven, loves breaking new ground. You will bring a mix of experience including complex technical program management, senior stakeholder management, system design and integration, cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, operational planning, and process improvement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams and ownership of program strategy in a complex or matrixed environment
- Prior background in operational or similar work for business-critical services, including building large scale optimization and predictive models
- Experience setting technical requirements for process automation and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, expertise in deriving insights through data analysis, practical knowledge and experience in inferential statistical application.
- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advance Degree (MS/MBA) in the field of organizational behavior, human resources, operations or strategy
- Experience in large scale Workforce, Operations, or Capacity planning functions
- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
- A record of customer advocacy and influence without authority is important for this role

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
