Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervising assigned staff in accordance with their job descriptions, maintaining a high standard of work and is responsible for timely and accurate service delivery on all shifts. Remains cognizant of accrediting agency requirements and maintains manuals, logs and other documents to their standards. Is aware of and implements fire and safety regulations. Aids in developing and implementing all policies relating to Performance Improvement, Quality Control, the handling and disposal of radioactive materials within the section. Shows leadership, delegates responsibility, establishes accountability among his/her staff participates in and encourages continuing education. Performs regular in-services, orientates new staff, performs annual evaluations and prepares work schedules, maintains inventory and staffing within budgetary limitations. Functions as a multimodality technologist as workload demands. May be required to attend imaging related committee meetings and to perform other such duties as required by the Radiology Manager. This position summary contains the most relevant duties and responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have current BCLS certification.
2. Minimum 3 years Radiology experience.
3. Membership in related professional organization preferred.
4. Knowledge of performance standards as outline by the ARRT
5. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
EDUCATION / Licensure:
1. Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound or MR program.
2. Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas, or other imaging modality certifications.
EXPERIENCE:
• Knows proper thresholds that can be allowed while working with contraindications for Contrast.
• Able to utilize critical thinking to ensure the appropriate patient care is delivered
• Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission and TDSHS requirements and maintains documentation for these regulating bodies.
