Apex has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer II that will sit in New Haven, CT.
Position:Systems Engineer II
Location: New Haven, CT - Hybrid (3x a week onsite)
Rate: Negotiable based on experience
Duration: Full Time
Position Description:
In this role you will be a member of the Endpoint Engineering Team. The team is responsible for managing several key services within IT, many of which impact the entire community, including Endpoint Management Tools, Managed Workstation Program, Virtual Desktop & Applications, Desktop Backup Service, Mobile Device Management, Software Packaging and Delivery, and others.

Responsibilities:
1. Provides technical expertise in resolving user system deficiencies and determines appropriate action.
2. Provides system services and analyze system performance for stakeholders and intended end users. Performs all activities necessary to activate a new operating system or new release of an existing system, including analysis, design, implementation, and related documentation. Analyzes systems performance and modifies programs to increase the efficiency of the operation. Reinstates integrity of system as quickly as possible following an outage in order to minimize item and data loss.
3. Recommends and authorizes system upgrades and software installations.
4. Designs, develops, and implements new system tools.
5. Analyzes execution time of commonly used instruction to identify and replaces those that are inefficient or slow to operation.
6. Analyzes, evaluates, and takes steps to circumvent problems and restores systems to operating condition.
7. Contributes to the determination of specifications and determines the combination of options needed to tailor an operating system to meet the business needs.
8. Conducts training and user education.
9. Research new technologies, processes, and methodologies.
10. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience in Microsoft Endpoint Manager platform (SCCM and Intune) including application deployment, OSD, autopilot, MacOS zero-touch, configuration baselines, configuration policies, endpoint security, etc. Proven Autopilot and zero-touch experience is a requirement for this role.
  • Extensive ability writing and analyzing complex PowerShell scripts and using PowerShell for automation and problem solving. Expert level knowledge using Bash, AppleScript is also required. Python experience is a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of software packaging and deployment to diverse endpoints. Understanding of self-service software distribution concepts.
  • Functional knowledge building and supporting Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate processes, tasks, and flows.
  • Experience within Azure Desktop Virtualization and Cloud Focused Environments.
Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent in experience.
  • Microsoft certification (AZ-900, AZ-140, SC-900, MS-900, SC-900), Apple Certified Support Professional, ITILv3 Foundation
