YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As part of TCEQ Compliance and Enforcement, you would help ensure that those we regulate comply with the state's environmental laws.

This position is a member of our Border and Permian Basin Division.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with tracking and maintaining budgets
  • Experience with purchasing equipment/supplies


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Assist with developing the regional annual operating budget; examine operating budget to ensure appropriated funds have been allocated to the appropriate classifications of cost. Monitor the region's expenditures and advises management of projected shortfalls in program cost account funding; prepare reports involving fiscal data
  • Coordinate and monitor the purchasing functions of the regional office; serve as the region's Procard coordinator.
  • Assist the Regional Director with day-to-day administration; makeadministrative decisions and ensure completion of work assigned to administrative staff such as: providing telephone coverage, maintaining filing systems, meeting schedules, tracking projects, providing weekly and monthly status reports.
  • Advise and recommend solutions regarding administrative issues impacting the region; prepare special reports
  • Advise staff on administrative matters related to policies, plans, programs, and requirements. Assist regional management on the analysis and resolution of work problems




Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's Degree and two years of full-time experience working in an office environment.

OR

Three years of full-time experience performing supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work which must include: analysis of work problems having an administrative aspect and interpretation of complex written material; or planning, organizing, and coordinating requirements for support services or program operations where a wide range of demands are involved, including interpretation of complex written material.

OR

Graduation from a standard senior high school or its equivalent plus seven years of full-time experience in an administrative capacity*.

Fifteen semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each six months of the required experience with a maximum substitution of four years.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Executive Assistant II state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Executive Assistant II series.
