YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As part of TCEQ's Office of Water, you would address diverse issues related to groundwater quality and quantity. This includes brainstorming sessions on developing sustainable groundwater resources for future generations through planning, monitoring, and assessing current and future groundwater conditions.

This position is a member of the Resiliency & Preparedness Team in the Water Supply Division.

Qualifications:

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading or supervising technical staff.
  • Experience implementing a regulatory program requiring the development of rules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidance, etc.
  • Experience working with public drinking water programs.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Supervise the staff and contractors of the Resiliency & Preparedness Team of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
  • Perform advanced administrative and supervisory program tasks for the Team to ensure the work for the assigned programs are completed efficiently, professionally and in accordance with federal, state and agency standards. Participate in the evaluation of the assigned budget(s) and various professional service contracts.
  • Conduct and oversee personnel management functions which includes interviewing, hiring, and performance management.
  • Communicate information and oversee communication, customer service, technical support, and assistance to team staff, management, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide mentoring and promote professional development opportunities for team staff.
  • Lead, assist with and/or coordinate special projects such as water security, emergency response, rule writing, review of proposed regulations, bill review/analysis and streamlining Team/Section processes.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment.


OR

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
