TELEWORK

This position offers an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule with a minimum 2-day work in office at one of our regional offices.

This position is a member of our Program Support and Environmental Assistance Division.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Technology Coordinator will play a key role in achieving TCEQ's mission. You would use your skills and experience to:

  • Develop and oversee computing technology strategy for Geographic Information Systems, performance monitoring dashboards, tracking systems, and new management software technologies that could benefit OCE.
  • Analyze existing processes for efficiency and effectiveness. Communicate project status and new technology proposals to management
  • Leads projects related to GIS and software technology solutions in support of OCE activities including overseeing implementation and/or utilization within OCE. Make recommendations to management regarding project benefits and expenditure of resources and funding. Attend and/or lead workgroups, committees, etc.
  • Maintain project timelines and monitor project processes and deliverables; test and conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure acceptability and specifications are met
  • Create and modify maps, graphs, or diagrams using Geographical Information Software and related equipment. Provide support during emergency events to ensure accurate and timely maps are available as requested by management. Coordinate with Information Resources Division to ensure that Agency processes and standards are followed for all projects. Coordinate with the Executive Director's staff and other Offices, as appropriate, on external communication of OCE information through GIS and other products. Integrate OCE technology strategies and processes with other groups within TCEQ
  • Train Division, Regional Office, and OCE Director's staff on GIS and technology solutions




Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Six years of full-time experience in systems administration, business process analysis and modeling, application development or system and application design.

OR

A master's degree from an accredited college or university, or technical college with a major in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics or a related field plus three years of the required experience.

OR

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or technical college with a major in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics or a related field plus four years of the required experience.

OR

Completion of 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics or a related field plus five years of the required experience.
