Team Overview
We aim to bring discovery, inspiration, and joy back to shopping by making TikTok the commerce channel of choice for merchants, creators, and partners. TikTok Shop-Electronics, Office, and Books-is looking for a retail champion to help us build our business and drive the growth of our category. This role sits in our larger Category Operations team, which supports key and enterprise accounts, social sellers, and emerging brands.
About the Role:
We are looking for passionate and talented people to join our commercial team in the US and help build a social commerce ecosystem where buyers, sellers, and creators can thrive. The Business Development Manager-Electronics, Office, and Books role is responsible for identifying and onboarding high-potential sellers prioritizing accounts that illustrate virality or trend-right positioning. You will work closely with a team of category managers, creator specialists, and technical and non-technical cross-functional partners to pitch, educate, and onboard sellers onto TikTok Shop.
Responsibilities:
- Develop business development growth strategies that align with TikTok Shop strategies and drive awareness, acquisition, and revenue.
- Generate a pipeline of qualified prospects based on opportunity size and prioritize delivering business development goals for growth.
- Pitch and recruit qualified prospects that meet category assortment needs and goals.
- Drive seller efficiency and seller experience enhancements regarding onboarding and integration to TikTok Shop, which reduces onboarding time.
- Develop reporting, analysis, and measurement that monitors and optimizes seller onboarding.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including creator, logistics, legal, governance, campaigns, and marketing, to establish a seamless and efficient process for onboarding sellers.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in business development, e-commerce account management, sales or B2B performance marketing in tech, media agencies, or startups.
- Experience engaging with and influencing executive leadership in B2B settings and negotiating the proper BD outcomes.
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes, and coordinating project plans to meet monthly and quarterly OKRs
- Strong knowledge of the e-commerce landscape, CRM tools, social commerce, & content marketing
Preferred Qualifications
- Quick learner, proactive, and resilient. Ability to cope well under pressure and thrive in ambiguous environments
- Analytical, data-driven, structured thinking, and goal-oriented; Ability to articulate thesis and strategies independently
- Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration, skilled at moving things forward.
