IMSA seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Track Services Coordinator. This position will travel to each track location to support events.
SUMMARY
The Track Services Team Member will typically be assigned to one of the IMSA response (Chase) vehicles during IMSA events. The team member will work to maintain a race ready track during these events. The team member will work with other members of the team in several areas of responsibility, including track inspections, race car recovery, track clean up, driver extrication and fire suppression. The Track Services Team Member may occasionally be assigned to perform Track Services dispatch duties in Race Control during IMSA events or cross-train with the Track Services dispatcher in Race Control. Working in other areas pertaining to Track Services may also be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May be asked to assume crew leadership responsibilities for a Chase vehicle. While in the role of crew leader you will be responsible for the personnel riding in your vehicle and for all equipment on the vehicle. Will take command of on-track incidents until relieved by Chase 1.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. May be responsible to direct the Track Services team as the dispatcher in Race Control.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum of six (5) years of experience as a professional firefighter or paramedic with extrication experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient on Company provided hardware and software.
OTHER SKILLS
Knowledge of and ability to use extrication equipment. Ability to use diplomacy when required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
EMT Certification preferred.
State Fire Fighting certification or equivalent preferred.

- Participate in track inspections prior to beginning of each day's activities and throughout the day as needed.
- Assist in maintaining and conducting visual inspection of the IMSA on track yellow light system.
- Responds to and actively participates in the response to accidents on-track.
- Manage on-track scenes until relieved by Chase 1.
- Pre-inspects race facilities to ensure proper knowledge of and familiarity with the facility.
- Trains for and maintains a high proficiency of IMSA procedures and protocols.
- Trains and works with the track's fire, rescue, towing and restoration personnel.
- Inspects and maintains the IMSA Chase Vehicle and equipment daily.
- Attends daily Track Services meetings with the safety crews at the track.
- Must be able to attend a minimum of six (6) race events in a calendar year.
