A client of Insight Globals is looking for a Traffic Signal Systems Engineer to support their internal database, and properly operate and maintain the clients traffic lights. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the the clients computerized traffic signal system and traffic system database, including providing technical expertise for the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the Advance Traffic Control System (ATCS). Responsibilities include coordinating traffic signal timing projects, monitoring arterial coordination timing plans, troubleshooting signal operations, preparing technical reports, and maintaining the traffic system database.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise for designing, implementing, operating, and maintaining the Advance Traffic Control System (ATCS).
- Coordinate traffic signal timing projects, including special and emergency timing strategies for evacuations.
- Monitor existing arterial coordination timing plans.
- Assist in troubleshooting signal operations, malfunctions, and programming signal timing inputs.
- Prepare technical reports for annual reports and respond to signal timing requests from external parties.
- Maintain the traffic system database, intersection maps, drawings, and communication network charts.
- Assist in fiber optic communications and controller equipment testing and troubleshooting.
- Respond promptly to requests from citizens and public officials.
- Perform assigned duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Traffic or Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in designing, operating, or maintaining signal systems.
- Preferably experienced with communication systems, networks, database management, and fiber optic networks.
- Familiarity with Windows administration and networking.
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
- Ability to acquire Professional Engineer certification in Florida within six (6) months of employment.

- Proficient in operating office equipment and adaptable to various atmospheric conditions.
- Effective English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to read technical data, manuals, and prepare reports.
- Sound logical and scientific thinking for problem-solving and data analysis.
- Numerical aptitude for engineering and statistical calculations.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with professionals and the general public, particularly under stress and deadlines.
