Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of the position is to provide general and specialized support to the Public Policy Program, its Director, faculty, and students.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school and one year of related office experience; or an equivalent combination of education
and experience.

University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through three years of specialized office experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Job Duties
This position provides general and specific support to the Director, faculty, and students in the Public Policy Program and interfaces with the college, graduate school, and other units at the University as well as alumni and the broader community.

The essential job duties include budget tracking and management; managing student and faculty records; creation of reports for administrative purposes; conveying specialized knowledge of program policy and practices to support recruitment, retention, and progress of students; planning events; managing course scheduling; creating content for program marketing including maintaining the program's web and social media presence.
Other Work Responsibilities
  • Assist with troubleshooting of the office machines and equipment for the program offices and the Policy Research lab.
  • Oversee and maintain the Listserv for students and affiliated faculty for each program.
  • Assist with the maintenance and accuracy of spreadsheets and maintain databases using Microsoft Office and Google Suite software for the program.
  • Regularly communicate via memos and emails information about program events, general information, news, and policies.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings and events.
  • Work professionally with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or similar discipline is desired.
  • Experience working in Higher Ed , and with budgets is preferred.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Experience using MS Office and Google Suite software.
  • Experience creating and updating content for program marketing including content for website and marketing materials.
  • Experience using university systems and software including Drupal, Banner, eGRAD, Archibus, and 49erMart is preferred.
  • Experience with graphic editing programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud or other graphic and photo editing software is a plus.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
