Job Duties

The Science Museum of Virginia is looking for a highly organized, quality focused, energetic individual to fill the position of Administrative Coordinator. This position reports to the Museum's Administrative Supervisor, and supports Administration, the Human Resources Team and procurement. Responsibilities include travel administration, purchasing, recruitment scheduling, onboarding and offboarding administrative tasks, file management, other HR tracking and administrative tasks, as well as supporting the accessibility to the museum for museum staff, contractors, vendors and deliveries, mail room coordination, check requests and other tasks and projects as they come up and as appropriate. Answers phones and handle calendars of the Agency Director and Deputy Directors.

Minimum Qualifications

Desirable candidates would have exceptional skill in computer-based office programs to include Google Workspace, Microsoft office, calendar software and email, filing systems, telephone manner, interpersonal relations, and time management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Administrative experience. Knowledge of procurement procedures. Ability to apply mature judgements that contribute to agency goals. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to learn and use various business computer user applications. Ability to coordinate multiple projects at one time and prioritize work.

Additional Considerations

• Secretarial or Administrative experience.
• Project management skills.
