Job Summary
Reporting to the WIOA Career Services Program Director, the Adult & Dislocated Worker Career Services Specialist provides career and case management services to adults with barriers to employment, including dislocated workers. The position uses an intensive case management approach to help eligible participants increase access to employment, education, and training so they may succeed in the labor market.

Job Summary
Reporting to the WIOA Career Services Program Director, the Adult & Dislocated Worker Career Services Specialist provides career and case management services to adults with barriers to employment, including dislocated workers. The position uses an intensive case management approach to help eligible participants increase access to employment, education, and training so they may succeed in the labor market.
Job Duties
- Meet with prospective and active program participants by phone, in-person, or virtual meeting platform.
- Conduct program eligibility assessments.
- Assess client needs' holistically and identify the most appropriate services to address those needs.
- Leverage internal and external partnerships to refer participants for training and support services as needed.
- Collaborate with partner agencies to support referrals and follow-up.
- Maintain detailed participant records in designated data management systems according to program policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with other WIOA staff, participants, partners, and the community.
- Assist participants with exploring the career opportunities available to them, the employers in the local area, and the training programs and educational competencies needed to be employable for a given opportunity.
- Work with participants to develop a learning plan that identifies current skill levels, the skill levels needed to meet academic and career goals, and the instruction and training required to fill the skills gaps.
- Coordinate processes and maintain documentation for co-enrollment, referrals, and transitions between the partner agencies, training providers, and supportive service providers.
- Maintain working knowledge of local workforce development plans and labor market data for the area, WIOA and American Job Center services offered, in-demand occupations and employers, training providers, and job fairs.
- Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited institution
- OR an Associate's degree in Human Services or related field with two years of work experience in human services
- Case management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in career and workforce development services
- Familiarity with the Tennessee Department of Labor VOS Client Tracking System, Jobs4TN, or similar systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
- Customer service skills
