Application Support Engineer (AWS)

Insight Global is looking to hire an AWS SysOps Admin for a local client. The right candidate will have a strong background in Systems Administration, strong experience using AWS services, and configuring java-based applications. If you love technology, this role is for you. This is a blend of System Administration work, DevOps work, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) work in an AWS environment. The AWS SysOps Admin will work with a global team on a proprietary java-based application mostly working to debug issues within the application, determining solutions with the infrastructure team, and uploading those solutions to business u . This role is expected to be 50% operations and maintenance and 50% project-based work.

Required Skills & Experience

* Holds a AWS Certifications - SysOps Administrator certification

* 5+ years of application administration experience (specifically Java-based apps and MSSQL/Oracle databases)

* 5+ years of experience deploying java-based enterprise apps in a well-architected framework ensuring good security, monitoring, high availability, etc.

* 5+ years of experience installing, deploying, and configuring applications on Windows and UNIX servers

* 3+ years of experience creating and editing python or shell scripts to automate development

* 3+ years of experience using DevOps tools like Ansible, Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes to write playbooks, automate batching, and automate the installation and deployment process

Compensation: $70-75/hour

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Using open-source languages like Kafka, Terraform, Kubernetes, Selenium on java-based applications
