Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Assistant Director of Radiology for Gotham Health is a comprehensive role that involves overseeing the radiology department's daily operational, administrative, and clinical aspects at multiple sites across the region. Additionally, this role involves maintaining audit readiness and meeting all regulatory and compliance guidelines.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and manage the radiology department, ensuring efficient and effective operation of all sites within the region.
  • Supervise a team of radiologists, technicians, and administrative staff across the region.
  • Foster a collaborative environment and promote team development.
  • Evening and weekend hours as needed
  • Schedule departmental meetings (i.e. staff meetings, in-service trainings, PI meetings)


Operational Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the radiology department across the region.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and maintain operational standards and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain supply inventory for assigned region
  • Coordinate and perform examination scheduling as needed


Manage the department's budget, including planning, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting.

Quality Control and Compliance:
  • Ensure the highest standards of radiological services for the sites within the region.
  • Oversee quality control procedures and accreditation processes for assigned sites within the region.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and standards.


Equipment and Technology Management:
  • In collaboration with Regional Administrator, oversee the maintenance and procurement of radiology equipment within the assigned region.
  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements in radiology and assess their implementation.
  • Coordinate and manage daily film processor quality control tests for sites within the assigned region


Audit Readiness-
  • Ensure that the service line within the region meets the highest standards for audit readiness and quality of care best practices. Participates in all aspects of compliance readiness, planning and implementation.
  • Maintain all certifications and safety documents/protocols pertinent to operating an outpatient radiology services within the assigned region.


Patient Care and Services:
  • Ensure patient-centered care in the radiology service.
  • Ensure that Work Queues are managed and patient responses including results are informed to patients in a timely fashion as outlined by the policy guidelines
  • Oversee Care Coordination and Transitions of Care
  • Address patient complaints and concerns related to radiological procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate radiology services into overall patient care.


Strategic Planning:
  • In collaboration with the Regional Administrator, develop and implement strategies for the growth and development of the radiology department.
  • Conduct market analysis and strategic planning to improve service offerings.


Staff Development and Training:
  • Oversee the on-site radiology service staffing within the assigned region to ensure effective operations.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of radiology staff for the assigned region.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.


Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with other regional directors to ensure cohesive healthcare services.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, management, and external partners.


Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and present reports on region all performance to senior management.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping within the region.


Continual Improvement:
  • Regularly assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of radiology operations.
  • Promote a culture of continual learning and improvement within the department.


Minimum Qualifications
1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Management, Health Care Administration or related discipline; and,
2. Six (6) years of full-time paid experience of program development in a hospital or health care facility in meeting community health needs, health care planning, financial planning, operations and analysis and implementation in an administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or,
3. A master's degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of full-time paid experience at the level indicated in (2) above.
4. Demonstrated skills in written and medical communications; or,
5. A satisfactory equivalent of education, training and experience.

Ability to read and write English and to understand and carry out simple instruction.
