Job Description

8:00 A.M - 4:00 P.M

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assume day-to-day administrative management and supervision of departmental operations.
  • Develop operating plans, programs, and procedures to implement goals and objectives.
  • Play a critical leadership role in the implementation of strategic short and long-term initiatives.
  • Assist department heads in the development of facility policies and procedures, and translate administrative policies, goals, and objectives into working programs.
  • Resolve problems related to staffing, utilization of hospital facilities, equipment and supplies.
  • Develop metrics to evaluate departmental financial and operation performance.
  • Monitor salary, non-salary and capital budgets as well as revenue targets and makes course corrections where needed to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures including control requirements and billing compliance regulations; monitor and provide solutions for contract compliance issues.
  • Improve the service line's clinical outcomes by instituting innovative strategies and practices, meeting patient needs, and reinforcing a culture of excellence in customer service.
  • Generate, articulate, and execute a shared vision for the service line by negotiating with and influencing a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Promote effective communication and partnerships between physicians and administration by facilitating group problem-solving discussions and building consensus.
  • Nourish a culture of employee commitment and high performance by aligning human resources strategies with business needs and by building a high-performance leadership team.
  • Respond to informational requests from hospital administration regarding department schedules, clinical performance indicators, and scope of operations.


Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Health Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and,
2. Six years of full-time, paid experience of progressively responsible level in hospital administration with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of health care delivery services; or,
3. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital or Health Administration, Health Care Planning, Public Health, Administrative Medicine, Business Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and,
4. Five years of full-time, paid experience as indicated in (2); or,
5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
