Job Summary Department Purpose
The HR-Shared Services Organization SSO) provides comprehensive HR, Payroll and Finance services in support of ~12,000 staff, student and academic employees in xx campus division, governed by 15 different Collective Bargaining Units and UC/UCD Policy.
Job Summary
Under general direction of the HR Supervisor, as part of the end-to-end recruitment process; provide daily in-person and virtual onboarding/orientation for new staff, student and academic employees of the HR-Shared Services Organization (SSO) clients. Manage all aspects of the onboarding/orientation process, including pre- and post- appointment communications, requirements and transactions, ensuring compliance with UC personnel policies and processes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work occasional overtime to meet business needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience providing excellent customer service in a high volume, fast paced environment, with multiple competing deadlines
- Experience using electronic/automated systems and software such as MS Office Suite or other automated office tools
- Experience communicating verbally and in writing with a diverse clientele
- Experience working with confidential information, exercising discretion in dealing with potentially sensitive topics
- Skill to analyze and evaluate complex information, data or problems in an objective manner
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Experience coordinating and conducting on-boarding of new employees.
- Experience in using software to conduct virtual meetings.
- Experience using case management systems or active databases with automated workflow.
- Experience using electronic HRIS or personnel management systems and applications.
- Formal training and/or experience in HR, Payroll and time and attendance
