The Regulation and Licensing Department (RLD) is the New Mexico state agency directly responsible for professional and occupational licensing of a wide variety of regulated industries ranging from the building trades, to personal care services, to financial industries, to the liquor, tobacco and cannabis industries, and much more. The Department's seven regulatory divisions play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and soundness of products and services that impact the lives of practically everyone in the State of New Mexico on a daily basis
Why does the job exist?
This position will work directly with the Office of the Superintendent and will be the first point of contact when the public contacts the Department. The incumbent of the position will provide triage for prioritizing the appropriate place for constituents to carry out their business and will provide specialized technical support services. This position will be responsible for duties in human resources, fiscal, information systems, investigations, procurement, and other business operations functions.
How does it get done?
The incumbent of the position will be the primary point of contact when constitutions call or physically arrive to the Regulations and Licensing Division (RLD) Office of the Superintendent. The incumbent will provide constitutes information regarding RLD's seven (7) divisions and have knowledge of the 35 industries, professions and trades that are regulated by RLD, this includes researching constituent concerns and returning calls with the information they require. The incumbent must be able to deescalate frustrated callers questions and comments professionally and with compassion. Answer phone calls which require a pleasant demeanor and willing to research more than internal business information. Transfers callers to the appropriate office. Americans with Disabilities (ADA)-If the constitute needs an ADA accommodation, the incumbent must be able to find the appropriate staff person to help them with accessibility issues. Provides high-quality support services to upper-level management and constituent support to the Governors Office and elected officials office. This requires an adept working knowledge of Microsoft office software especially, Outlook, Word, and Excel and any specialized software if possible. Providing help to the Office of the Superintendents team including the Executive Assistant, or any other division as needed. Work on special projects to research requests, such as procurement of office supplies, equipment, organizing and archiving files, and other assignments.

Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a current Drivers License and be able to pass a background check. This position does not require supervision of employees.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Possible exposure to irate customers. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. May be required to lift 25lbs.
