Why does the job exist?
This position provides a high level of administrative support to the General Services Department (GSD) Office of the Secretary; ensuring smooth operations and effective communication across the office. Additionally, this role is responsible for organizing office operations and functions, contributing to an efficient and professional environment.
How does it get done?
This position is crucial in ensuring consistent and professional coverage for the Office of the Secretary. The incumbent will serve as the first point of contact and provide vital support to the General Services Department by assisting employees and the public with general inquiries, both in person and by phone. In addition, the position handles clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, scheduling meetings, supporting travel requests, routing documents for signature and coordinating office supplies and technology.

Minimum Qualification

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer to include working with computers, copiers and printers, and phone usage with extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, kneeling and crawling. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
