Job Duties

• Assist with the coordination, facilitation, and assessment of activities within Career Services.
• Manage or assist in planning and implementing details for career related events, career expo, graduate fairs, resume, interview workshops, seminars, and other specialized programs within the department.
• Provide support for all schools/colleges Create career related learning material and facilitate workshops, webinars.
• Maintain Blackboard Course (grading resumes, cover letters) Assist students with application process for internship, employment, internship opportunities, research, and graduate school.
• Administer and interpret individual interest, skills, abilities, and values assessment instruments; including, but not limited to Strong Interest Inventory and various self-assessment materials.
• Maintain advising appointments on a weekly basis. Assist and collect student participation, satisfaction, and placement data information.
• Student Development: Assist with monitoring the work habits of student workers.
• Provide ongoing professional development to enhance workplace and employability skills.
• Support the development of students' professional growth including student organizations.
• Faculty Development: Collaborate and coordinate college specific outreach, programming and customized seminars, workshops, and programs based on student needs assessment and faculty requests.
• Student Advising/Consultation: Provide students and alumni individual assistance in defining career options developing employment skills, and job- search procedures.
• Build connections and relationships with campus stakeholders and the business and corporate community.
• Organize, set priorities, and manage multiple internal and external programs simultaneously with critical deadlines.
• Actively respond to students, faculty, and employer needs in-person, via telephone and electronically (email, career data-based systems).
• Assist, organize, set priorities, and manage multiple internal and external programs simultaneously with critical deadlines.
• Assess and evaluate appropriate action for career planning activities for students and employers.
• Offer feedback to program related activities involving workshop and seminar planning.
• In the absence of the director, associate, director, and assistant director, make sound decisions and represent the department.
• Demonstrate high ethical standards, knowledge and appreciation of cross-cultural and bias issues, and the ability to work with diverse populations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of current employment models, career development theories, workforce, and labor market trends.
• Plan, implement and evaluate innovative programming as market trends change.
• Provide sound guidance and serve as an assistant or student advisor for career services and divisional activities.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• Support departmental and divisional activities, committees, and programs.
• Support Communities Agencies.
