Job Description

  • Administers and coordinates all ongoing educational activities of the training programs in General Psychiatry that are under the supervision of Program Director, Graduate Medical Education (GME), and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS).
  • Maintains and continually updates the performance records of trainees, ensuring compliance with the ACGME regulations and ISMMS policies.
  • Assisting the Medical Student Clerkship Directors and other training directors in scheduling and evaluation of trainees.
  • Schedules regular didactic conferences, grand rounds, and in-service examinations and maintains attendance records.
  • Organize meetings with faculty member/residents.
  • Assists faculty with remote learning platforms.
  • Records minutes of Clinical Competency Committee and other academic meetings.
  • Coordinates the execution of program letters of agreements and other interinstitutional documents.
  • Updates trainee credentials for the ABPN certifying examination.
  • Coordinates ACGME, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and In-house surveys.
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Coordinate recruitment procedures:
  • Maintains correspondence with applicants
  • Schedules interviews
  • Assists with travel arrangements
  • Maintains records of applications, evaluations, and decisions made by admission committees.

Organizes Orientation of beginning residents:
  • Assists with collection of updated documents such as: diplomas, letters of recommendation, visas
  • Schedules orientation conferences
  • Ensures completion of onboarding training: EPIC, ALS, safety training
  • Oversees distribution of IDs, keys, pages, and the allocation of lockers; ensures computer and other logistic access.

Coordinates the residency program's graduation:
  • Organizes graduation ceremony and events
  • Oversees distribution of diplomas and gift certificates
  • Maintains contact with all graduates, aiding with documentation required by licensing boards, regulatory agencies, and employers.

Supervisory:
  • May supervise the office administration and office record keeping activities of the
    department.


Minimum Qualifications
1. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling; and
2. Two (2) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, one (1) year of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as Medical/Laboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician; or two (2) years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including one (1) year in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or
3. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines listed in "1" above; and
4. Three (3) years of full-time experience, as described in "2" above, including two (2) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations, as listed in "2" above; or
5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
